Applying images to mold

Once the image is loaded and the background region is set (see identifying the model in the image), we have to apply the image to the mold. This step is essentially telling IBModeler the angle at which the photograph was taken with respect to the model. This is done by specifying the coordinates of the camera position and it's direction of view while taking the photograph.

When we select the EditImage->Apply To Mold option, we are first prompted to enter the camera details (see define camera parameters dialog). After that we are provided with a dialog interface to specify the camera position and the view direction. This interface also provides a 3-D view which displays the camera and mold positions according to the values specified (see  camera orientation dialog for details on using this dialog window).

After we have specified the camera orientation details, the application starts to apply the image on the mold. The time taken for this will depend on the size of the image as well as the point densities of the mold. We can cancel this process at any time. However, remember that once we cancel this operation, the mold file becomes invalid. Applying an image only in part, would give unpredictable results. Hence it is recommended to delete the mold file if this process was cancelled in between.

The image file is automatically unloaded once the process of applying to mold is over. In this way, we should apply all the photographs of the model to the mold, one by one. After applying all the photographs, we proceed to create the model from the mold.
