Creating the model from the mold
Once the mold is ready after being processed with the actual model images,
we can proceed to create the model. Creating the model is a
straightforward process as discussed here step by step:
Specify whether we want to generate a part of the model or whole of it.
The model range dialog
pops up the moment we choose the Create Model option.
When you had created the mold,
it was created with specific number of points along the three axes
based on the poly level count that you selected.
Now, you can choose to create a section of the model based on the selection of
these point indexes using this dialog.
Add textures
On clicking next, the user is prompted to specify textures using the
add textures dialog .
Choose a color for the model
If you did not select textures for the
model in the previous dialog, you will be prompted to choose a color
for the model. You can select a color
by clicking on the Choose Color button, which opens up the Color dialog.
Specify the name and the location of the model file
A File dialog will then open for specifying the location
to store the model data. The model will be saved as a file with
.mdl extension at the specified location.
The process of creating the model file starts just after this. The time taken and the size of
the model file will depend on the
point densities of the mold file as well as the complexity of the model's shape.
Once the model is created, we can we can view it by opening the .mdl file.
See view model options
for the various view options available.
