Set background color dialog
This dialog helps us in specifying the range of colors which are to be set as background.
The dialog pops up when we select a color by clicking on a particular pixel of the image.
The corresponding pixel color is displayed on the left panel when this dialog loads.
The dialog only comes up if the marker type is Set Color As Background
. This is the default. Use the toolbar buttons or 'EditImage->Change Marker Type' menu option
to change the marker type.
-
Use Color Selector button
Opens up a color dialog which can be used to select a
different color for the left panel. -
Define a color range button
Use this option to specify a range of colors. The start color for the range will get
displayed on the left panel and the end color in the right panel.
The end color can be changed by varying the Luminosity and Saturation levels.
A color can be defined in terms of it's Hue, Saturation and Luminosity. Hue is the base
color. By varying the saturation, we can obtain different shades of the color while by
varying luminosity we can make the same color appear darker or lighter.
Note that the left pane color cannot be changed once you
hit the button (To change it click on the cancel button and start afresh).
-
Sat (Saturation)
This option gets enabled after we click on the Define a color range button. It consists of a radio
button and a vertical scrollbar. Once the radio button is checked, the
vertical scrollbar above is enabled. We can move it to vary the saturation for
the color on the right panel. By varying the saturation, we can obtain
different shades of the color.
-
Lum (Luminosity)
This option gets enabled after we click on the Define a color range button. It consists of a radio
button and a vertical scrollbar. Once the radio button is checked, the
vertical scrollbar above is enabled. We can move it to vary the luminosity for
the color on the right panel. By varying the luminosity, we can make the color
appear darker or lighter.
