Define camera parameters dialog

• Camera at infinity

  As the distance increases; things appear smaller. Use this option if you feel that the sizes of the nearer ends and the farther ends of the target model won't vary much due to increase in distance from the camera. This could be the case if the distances between the ends is not enough to cause a noticable decrease in size. In this case, only coverage height and coverage width needs to be specified.

• Coverage Height

  The vertical range that the camera can capture. Used along with camera at infinity option.
  (Range: 1 to 50000)

• Coverage Width

  The horizontal range that the camera can capture. Used along with camera at infinity option.
  (Range: 1 to 50000)

• Vertical Coverage (d1, d2, h1, h2 params)

  Is enabled if camera at infinity option is unchecked. This section is used to specify the variation in captured height, with the increase in distance from the camera. Actual measurements have to be taken before specifying the inputs. The above image clearly depicts the four fields (d1, d2, h1, h2) that have to be measured and the corresponding values filled in the textboxes provided for each. The allowed range for each of the values is 0.0001 to 50000.

  We need not measure distances from the exact position of the camera. As shown in the figure, the distances can be measured from a convenient point in front of the camera. Using the two sets of readings, the actual distance is calculated by the application.

• Horizontal Coverage checkbox

  Is enabled if camera at infinity option is unchecked. Keep this checkbox checked if the vertical as well as the horizontal range that can be captured are same. Uncheck it if the vertical and the horizontal ranges differ for the camera.

• Horizontal Coverage (d1, d2, h1, h2 params)

  Is enabled if camera at infinity option is unchecked and the Horizontal Coverage checkbox is also unchecked. This section is used to specify the variation in captured width, with the increase in distance from the camera. The entries can be made in the same way as done for the vertical case.
