Using the rotating stand setup

The rotating stand method is the best and the simplest way to create models using IBModeler. You will find a lot of fabulous models created using this method made available for reference at the ajubaa website's ibmodeler samples section.

We will be discussing this method in detail, but in a nut shell it consists of the following steps:
  1. Keep the target model on top of a rotating circular disc in front of a digital camera
  2. Mark some points on the side edges of the disc  
  3. Cover the background of the model with a green, blue or red screen
  4. Obtain photographs of the model at different angles of rotation of the disc
  5. Open IBModeler and supply some necessary inputs
  6. Sit back and relax while IBModeler processes each of the photographs and creates and displays a beautiful 3D replica of it (see illustration below).
